Phew! The week is finally over! Yay!
I have a busy day tomorrow - work, movie, coffee, party - not too shabby! Then Sunday I will spend packing, cleaning, and doing last minute things. My cards are (mostly) sent, my gifts bought and wrapped, I am kicking Christmas butt.
Once again, I find I have a surplus in my flexible spending account. Once again, I will take my family into the pharmacy and stock up on Tylenol and Sudafed on Dec 31. Does anything need anything? Whatever gets left will be claimed by the government or my company. We can't have that.
Hope all my friends in the more snowy areas of the country are staying safe.

Midweek update
Seeing as how I might have a whole new readership, I would like to welcome all my new bloggy friends! Don't worry if you post a comment and you don't see it right away - I have my preferences set so that I have to review all posts before they are published.
As of today, all my Christmas shopping is done! I have a good head start on wrapping, too! I am feeling more in the Christmas spirit this year than I have in a long time. It is hard when you are a student - all I could ever think about was finals until three days before Christmas, then I was so exhausted, it was over before I knew it.
This weekend, I took my cousin to see Twilight. I can see the appeal to teenage girls, but the rest of you.... really? The movie was well done, and the acting was good, but the characters were pretty shallow. And the storyline was basically a modern day Beauty and the Beast. We had a good time, though. I also went to the Washington Revels. That is the kind of thing I am glad I have done at least once, but it is just a long day at a busy time of year.
At work, we have all been worried about the leap second. Not only do we have a leap second this year, but it falls on day 366, so there was lots of planning going on to make sure that the S/C and MODIS don't start freaking out or anything. We wouldn't want that! Although things have been busy at work, I have finally started to get on top of things a bit. Yay!
Yesterday, I ran a 15 min mile. That sounds pretty bad, but it is pretty good for me! As much as I hate the treadmill, it is really good for keeping a steady pace and timing.
Well, I need to make a double batch of my secret family recipe chocolate chip cookies, even though I don't eat them, I don't even lick a finger! I am glad it is Thursday tomorrow, though.

What a long, strange trip its been...
That is how I feel about this week. It has been strangely quick, but agonizingly so. Every night, I started falling asleep at 10 PM! Is this some kind of bizarre prep for turning 30? Eek!
I am trying to decide what I want to do for my birthday. It isn't until April, but if I want to do something, I should start thinking about it now. What I would *really* like to do is have a contra dance, but that would be rather involved, and would also involve having a critical mass of willing dancers, and I am not sure I could rustle that up. So, maybe, something like watching the sun come up on Cadillac Mountain. Hmmm...
I am really looking forward to Christmas. I am going to take a day or two off in addition to Christmas day. Yay!
I was getting gas today, and the guy behind me (in a massive SUV that I am sure he didn't need) couldn't get around my car, as my door was partially open. Instead of rolling the window down and asking me to shut my door, he honked his horn! How can people have such horrid manners (or really none at all). Ugh!
It is chilly tonight. Keep warm!

I miss you, Nana.
My Nana died a year ago on Thanksgiving. It is weird to have a holiday without her. She and my Uncle George spent every holiday with us when I was growing up. I know she is happier now, but I still miss her. She is one of the only people that I could guarantee you was always happy to see me, she always thought I was the greatest. I guess that is what grandmothers are for, but I also know not everyone gets it. I am so truly blessed to have such a loving, spirited woman on my side.
